Security camera installation & network cabling
Cameras mounted and aimed with care, powered over Ethernet, and cable runs that stay hidden, labeled, and tested.
A camera system is only as good as its placement and its wiring. J2 Wired installs wired PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras, where a single cable carries both power and video. There are no batteries to charge, and no Wi-Fi dropouts in the middle of the night.
The same care goes into structured cabling. Every run is terminated to the T568B standard, labeled at both ends, and tested before the job is closed out, so your network is easy to expand and troubleshoot later.

Clean, finished terminations instead of cables coming out of holes in the wall.
Patch panels & closet cleanup
Messy network closets organized, labeled, and documented.
Why wired cameras
- One Ethernet cable carries power and video, so no batteries or outlets near each camera
- More reliable than Wi-Fi cameras, which can drop out when the signal is weak
- Continuous recording to a local recorder, not only motion clips
- Easier to add cameras later when the cabling is planned from the start
Frequently asked questions
Are wired cameras better than wireless?
For most homes and businesses, yes. Wired PoE cameras don't depend on Wi-Fi signal or batteries, and they can record continuously. Wireless cameras make sense where running a cable isn't practical.
Can I watch my cameras from my phone?
Yes. Most NVR systems include an app, and we set up remote viewing as part of the install.
What is Cat6, and do I need it?
Cat6 is a network cable rated for high speeds and less interference than older Cat5e. It's the standard choice for new installs because it handles today's speeds with room to grow.
Can you clean up an existing network closet?
Yes. We can re-terminate, label, and organize existing cabling into a patch panel so it's easy to manage.
